PTSD is a classifiable disorder. It means that there's biological basis to it and society is humans are social creatures. If when we are hurt, some of the natural responses we can get is that we get so hurt we retreat from society. So I need to crush them and keep them away from me keeps you in a paradox. And that's where we see the Grinch live - he doesn't trust anything. He has a very strong view of the world based on genuine hurt and hardship,. When people are contradictory to that belief, they rejected outright.
