The Third Leading Cause of Death in the US Is Medical Error
The third leading cause of death in the US, accounting for 10% of deaths annually, is medical error. Medical errors are a function of the amount of things that we do in health care. Patients who buy expensive insurance want to get their money's worth and may overconsume. Doctors who make money primarily when they do stuff tend to do more stuff.
