The Origins of the Gold Tablets

Gold tablets have been appearing regularly for two centuries. The first ones were found in the 19th century and an Italian scholar, Dominico Comparétis, related them with instructions for the soul on what to do in the underworld once she's arrived to Hades. They are written mainly in hexameters; epigraphically they have plenty of problems. There is some debate on whether we should interpret all the tablets together as belonging to the same set of beliefs.
