Professor Pierre Lazlo. as the clever accountant had a brilliant idea for marketing the salt. He decided to model on the example of fine wines. To affix to the salt in Girond the notion of terroir that of a location with specific features. It was rather successful and started breeding imitators first in Europe, in Italy, Spain, Portugal and elsewhere. And then across the world at prices that were by one od of magnitude at least more expensive than the usual salt.
