How Did You Get Started Building Your Own Website?

In 2012, 2013, I was a captain in the U.S. Army and working on a project for a thin major general HR McMaster. We were creating a self study program for maneuver leaders for the United States Army. And as we were creating this website, I was amazed at how much red tape and bureaucracy we ran into. But it was in that process that I realized that I could probably do the same thing and do it on my own. So I wanted to give it to go myself until I started the website  in 2013.
