Introduction
Don Weilben: It's June 1776, and we're in the Statehouse in Philadelphia. A committee of five men has been tasked with writing a declaration of independence. The initial effort fell to a certain delegate from Virginia, Thomas Jefferson. In the final version of the Declaration of Independence, slavery and violence against indigenous people do not get a mention.
