Shane: I think about my friends who, like I got a good friend who's an Earth System Science type guy. He's a biologist who works on basically stuff that's like kind of close to Gaia theory. His lab gets money similar to how Moore would kind of scoff at from the forestry industry because they're trying to figure out why these monoculture forests are so hot and resilient. But what he looks at is really interesting because his lab is all about looking at these fungus substrates that exist in natural healthy forests That essentially allow in his mind trees to talk, right? Like trees. And also that the way that the forestry industry that is funding his work has no fucking clue
