How to Make Matt Fall in Love With Eliza
Eliza was a fake online identity she created for herself in order to get closer to Matt. She found someone on social media who had the kind of look Matt found attractive, downloaded their photos and created an email to go along with it. Being Eliza was like a drug for me: The more Matt liked Eliza, the more I wanted to be her. After a while, it wasn't just Eliza whose fake life I was inhabiting; I created a whole network of people who legitimized Eliza's existence. This went on for years, and eventually consumed my high school experience.
