How Much Media Attention Has Changed Over Time?
The data set is based off of media reports. Just because the media doesn't report on it doesn't necessarily mean it's not happening. In fact, I was kind of working on this data recently and there were a couple of instances in the early 2000s where leaders in Africa just like straight up canceled elections or didn't have elections. You know and so I think that the amount of media attention has really changed over time.
