The Brotherhood in the Nineteen Seventies

In the 19 sixties, a put to death as part of a broad based and comprehensive crackdown on the muslem brotherhood. It gets removed from egyptian society as a political force when it re emerges in the 19 seventies. In response to an invitation from egypt's new president, anar sadat, who was keen to emphasize his religious credentials. This more radical faction split away, began to speak of and regard the kind of mainstream brotherhood as traitors. They then set up their own radical, violent splinter groups that eventually evolved into militant movements like elelgggamal islamia.
