Is There a Cost to Ask?

Men are not going to be penalized for advocating for themselves. Women, on the other hand, will be penalized if they advocate for themselves. And so we're not necessarily seeing a situation where the person who gets the money is going to be a better steward with the money. What we're seeing is that the person who is going to the second time recognizes that there are fewer social constraints or penalties for making that second request.
