Active Inquiry Is Not Just for Calculus
A young boy was seriously injured in a car accident. The driver for the insurance company was clearly at fault. His attorney requested a much smaller compensation package. But an insurance adjustor, right knew that it would have been unfair to the boy to only give him so little. He crafted this really clever solution by taking a step back and actively engaging with his thoughts. It also ended up saving the insurance company a little bit of money. Everybody won in the end.
