The Word Like in My Story

The goal for all of my stories is to have my audience experience the moments that I experienced in my life with the same emotions that I felt. So if I identify a moment in my story where I'm shocked or surprised or devastated, I want to try to get my audience to feel something akin to that. And I think I achieve it through protecting that surprise and enhancing that surprise by convincing my audience that there's no way I'm ever going to have a diagnosis. It's not even what this story is about. It's about something entirely else. The thing I like the least about that story for being honest is the word like.I hear myself using it a lot in that story.
