LZ Granderson: I'm glad that the film exists, even though I found it to be somewhat dull as a film. He says he would encourage anybody who sees the movie and thinks, "Oh, that was kind of neat," to read more about Tolkien. LZ: Humphrey Carpenter's biography is still indispensable for readers, but it's not ideal. But Raymond Edwards' biography called Just Tolkien is a nice balance in his work on the Inklings.
