Is Free Space Optics a Good Idea?
Alex sleds: I think battery-starved environments are a very interesting scenario. We could have something that consumes a milliwatt of power, like an LED blinking kind of power consumption. NASA's been moving towards optics for quite some time now. They've had a lot of demonstrations or free space optics going up to satellites. And so in that way, the satellite could do compute locally without having to consume so much power.
