Paul daman was a very popular teacher at yale. His somonars were just packed to the gills, you knowt adoring graduate students. I wrote a paper for him on rousseau that i decided, younow, i had already decided i was going to leave yale, and so i didn't write his kind of paper. And he gave me an a on it. He said, well, in one sense, this is completely right, but in another sense it's completely wrong. But, no, still a smart guy.
