The History of England and France

The year 1066 is considered one of the most important dates in our country's history. It was the date of the Norman Conquest of England. The Normans had actually invaded France centuries earlier. They were the descendants of a Viking leader from Scandinavia. His descendants became the Normans, French-speaking and influential land owners. Today, up to 50% of the English language is French in origin.
