It was plausible to tell a middle-aged Frank Sinatra fan that there was nothing really to fear from all these long hairs putting flowers in the rifles of National Guardsmen. In 1968 Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones would go from you could say flower power to street fighting men. How can anyone ever hope to have peace or peace seriously considered when their terms are so violently and wrongly presented?
