Do I Really Want to Do This?

When you come back from a lay off, you're going to be exquisitely sore. But even if you're doing another activity, like mezilian, tgits, and it doesn't make any difference, if you're not squatting, you're still going. And that's just the way should is. That's why, that's a real, good reason to not take a lay off. Once you've been training 30 years, and you know you're going To train, and you're in the habit of training, injuries punctuate the progress.
