Meditation and Thoughts as Objects

Some traditions take thoughts themselves as an object of meditation. Do you do that in your tradition or is that not part of the practice? No, I think we have to learn to be mindful of thought. The problem with thoughts is basically we don't see them for what they are. We believe them to be a lot more than they actually are. And when we see a thought as a mental event then we can work with that as something that we observe in meditation.
