The Origin of Magic Systems in the Cosmir

The shards come from adanalsium, they are essentially the wellspring of all magic in the cosmir. Magic is called investiture on these different planets that the shards have travelled to. And the magic is related directly to the individual type of shard. So each planet is going to have a slightly different magic system - even though they're all based on investature. It kind of manifests itself differently on each planet, because they're related. That's, you know, part of why we're talking about it, because everything is connected.
