Gramsci's Essay on Intellectuals
Gramsci has a view of the intellectual that is rooted not in intellectual activities, but actually in the social position that an intellectual occupies. David says he was trying to read this last night after a glass of wine and I was struggling so hard I had to read it this morning instead. Gramsci's essay on intellectual comes from the prison notebooks, which just to contextualize the content are writings that Gramsci produced while he was in prison by a Mussolini.
