Big oil majors are applying capital discipline and the operational rigor to make those fields more viable for investors, not just the people who own the land. Is that a story that is just getting going or have we sort of run its course already? Well I think the biggest issue regarding those fields is the depletion problem that they now face. Even though they're big and different, they ultimately conform to the same rules of geology as a conventional basin does. They ultimately plateau and roll over. The Bakken and the Eagle Fert have grown now for three or four years but will never be able to achieve new highs.
