Why is it so important for us to assign agency to non-human objects? We're starting to see technologies getting deployed that have quite a bit of autonomy. They can develop in such a way that they become quite disconnected from the humans who developed to them. And consequently, they could have effects where we're going to have an extremely hard time finding anyone to blame for those effects.
