Short sellers are trying to raise concerns about the stock price of casava science. The company is associated with allegations of misconduct in studies that supported the development of their drug, semuplum. A whistle blower at vanderbilt was contacted by a colleague of his who had connections with the short sellers. He found dozens of papers where there were strong signs of manipulated images.
