The Conflict Between Science and Religion
Team J. Gould was American paleopologist who died about 20 or so years ago. Was a great scientific combatant of Dawkins and the gene-centered view of evolution. While not a religious person himself, he was nothing like as anti-pathetic towards religion as Dawkins and his crew were. His argument was that science has got to do with facts. Religion hasGot to do with values and they're fundamentally different. So they can't be a conflict between them because they just don't engage with one another. Now, it's fine to look at them as separate magisteria, but they do overlap partially in one particular area - which is essentially important to the book.
