Alzheimer's Disease - Is That a Biomarker?
I think everyone feels confident that those proteins are markers of the disease. So if you can say that in people that don't have Alzheimer's disease, there aren't those biomarkers then at least we know that you can follow that to determine whether or not your medication may remove that protein or not. Whether or not that's interfering with the progression of cognitive impairment is not clear but I think it's fair to say that we all agree they're biomarkers. Okay. If we don't know whether those plaques and tangles are a result of Alzheimer's or a cause or an effect, what does that mean that we know the level? Fantastic question.
