Perkins and the Perkin Reaction

William henry perkin married for the first time in 18 59 when he was 21. His bride, jemima harriet lasette, was his first cousin. He and sasha had a son, frederick, followed by four daughters, sasha, lucy, annie and helen, mary. The dye manufacturing plant was a thriving business but the perkin brothers were also constantly operating at kind of a breakneck pace.
