The Importance of Peer Reviewing Papers

I think it's incredibly valuable learning experience to review papers, particularly in your career. You learn from other people's mistakes as you learn from your own. I was very conflicted over writing that editorial, I had no problem writing it. But I thought a long time before I decided that it was an appropriate thing to happen the journal because, you know, blood is not a political mouthpiece. It's a scientific journal. And there's no question how I feel about this issue. But I'm not a spokesperson for the blood readership. I'm an editor and producer for theBlood readership.
