Critical Reflexivity in the Field of Comparative Education
I think that living in Papua New Guinea for a good number of years helped to make me more and more sensitive to the importance of local voices, all levels of a system. And I do worry that the further away any of us get from the grassroots or if you're in teacher education, the further away from the realities of a school you get. So those are cautions that I would always be applying certainly to myself as much as anyone else. But when I look back over the history of our field, I do feel that we are well positioned to be tackling these arguments today.
