If you outshine your colleagues on a project, they may feel threatened. So if i feel like you everyone says you did a great job, i feel jealous. And there's no way for me to like, i can't fault you for doing a good job at the company. Some people just manage relationships like this. They're not actually saying you're a bad person,. Or even wilder, maybe they did pass along the message and you forgot.
