meta cognition is a term used in psychological therapies. It allows people to look at experiences with a bit of am, a bird's eye view and then get this degree of sort of diffusion from their thoughts. You can kind of em see them for what they are, rather that you know. And imf i talk in the book about em can remember the movie the mask with jim cary. When he finds an old wooden mask it grips him round the back of the head. It affects everything he does, everything he thinks and and that kind of thing. But when he takes it off and he holds it just at arm's lengths just a mask again. That's a very powerful example
