At the age of 16, James Brown was sent to a juvenile detention centre. There he met Bobby Bird who would be his mentor and creative partner for 20 years. He started singing Jordan's songs in small groups around town before recording Caldonia as a tribute to his idol. But after being caught breaking into one car, it all went downhill from there.
