The Fed's Target for Interest Rates
Wage growth and retail sales have recently started to outpace inflation. The combination of rising government borrowing and quantitative tightening may mean the upward push on interest rates will often exceed the downward pull. Global structures prevalent at companies today were put in place when interest rates were near zero, so de-globalization could have the opposite effect.
