The Ancient Hebrews and the Canaanites
The ancient Hebrews were Canaanites from the hill country, alongside the river Jordan. This rough country became a refuge for Canaanites fleeing their burning coastal cities during the Bronze Age collapse. The emigres brought with them stories of the great Storm God Yahweh.
