The Effect of Altruism Community on Difference Making
In many cases it's tolerably clear what doing nothing amounts to. The moral so far is if you're going to identify benevolence preferences with preferences to make a difference, you better be doing it in this sense and not the direct causal sense. Even in this sense there can potentially be some pathological anti-altaristic features of having these preferences.
