Light Infantry Combat

Light infantry were selected for size and skill, but also for initiative and self reliance. In almost every language but english, light infantry are referred to literally as hunters or poachers. Another group that was frequently recruited for the light infantry was the urban bourgeoisie. And it was among the young middle class men of this period that we begin to see the first stirrings of nationalism.
