The Battle of Shiloh

The Battle of Shiloh took place on April 6th, 1864. Confederate General Sidney Kump led his 40,000 men into battle against the Union army. The battlefield was pockmarked with ravines, small creeks, thick underbrush and dense forests. This difficult terrain mostly plays to the Union's advantage since they have to advance quickly through it.
