Making Schools More Open to Other Cultures

Mark O'Mara says that you can find versions of this dynamic playing out in just about every education related battle across the decades. Most often these fall into a familiar political pattern conservatives reveal that something happening inside schools is actually part of a bigger plan to socially re engineer kids and educators. Then the first group bashes the second is out of touch experts. But there are exceptions to this political pattern, such as Betsy DeVos who called for innovation from the right but was also deeply suspicious of other sources of traditional education expertise.
