The Implications of IIT for Human Civilization
The integrated information of society on the whole is more or larger than an individual's. According to the theory, only one entity within a system that is recognized as conscious and it is the entity with the highest volume of integrated information. So theoretically, if society develops in such a way that the information continues integrate and integrating, there comes a point where society would be recognized as the conscious entity as opposed to the individual.
