Alexander Bonaparte is a rare example of a disabled person who isn't affluent and who doesn't have a support network, like most of her disabled characters do. And you can see that Christie is aware that without those socioeconomic advantages, he is more vulnerable. But in preparation for doing this podcast, I listened to some of Catherine and Kemper's old podcasts about the books. It seemed from their discussion about him, he is written in a way that you meant to pity him, which is a stereotype.
