Bruce Springsteen's Manager and Confidence

I did two albums like the Darkness and I did Born and Run in Darkness because I really there was no space for me on their production team. So I went from Darkness into Patty Smith. And I did Easter with her. Then they went to Tom Petty. I did Dammit torpedoes with Tom Petty. It's just very simple. Take me baby, here as I am. That was always strange to me that somebody who wrote about Bruce Springsteen ended up becoming his manager and confidant. He really understood. The equivalent of that would be now is pretty rare.
