I Don't Understand Integrated Information Theory

The idea assigning consciousness to matter the same way you assign mass or energy, is really stretching things. So there are still people that are that are backing the concept of panpsychism. Another another model of consciousness is so called in integrated information theory. Do you know anything about integrated information theory? I've looked at it, and it's a somewhat interesting approach. It admits the hard problem of consciousness - from nothin we know physically can you predict or explain consciousness. But i get disturbed by eliminative materialists like paul churchland,. who seem to deny that we 're really conscious, or that we even have beliefs and desires but these phenomena are there.
