The Infinite Universe and Artificial Intelligence

I'm endlessly fascinated by how culturally significant our idea of AI is. I realized at some point I would have to define what intelligence is, and I was really hoping someone else had written a really good definition I could steal. And that seems to me incredibly significant, because what it says is there is more than one way of doing intelligence. The fact that it tells us that other kinds of intelligence is are possible beyond the human seems like an incredibly significant and important thing for us to learn just at this point when being able to recognize respect and deal with non human intelligences in the broadest possible sense.
