The Foreign Earned Income Exclusion for American Citizens
In most advanced Western countries, you need to sever all of your permanent ties with the country. For Americans, it's completely different. An American citizen who wants to move abroad could have a mansion in Miami and keep his bank accounts there. But if he qualifies for the foreign earned income exclusion, he will get benefits of being abroad without severing all of his ties with the United States.
