The Divide Between Fundamentalism and Liberalism

The tension between fundamentalism and liberalism is still very much with people. It hasn't even integrated the data and evidence that we've gotten from all these modern advancements of archaeology or scientific data, they haven't even really wrestled without yet. How how do you maintain a tradition, which is essentially a pre modern tradition, in the wake of modern development of thought that challenge that pre modern tradition? How do you do that?
