The Impact of Consumer Confidence on the Economy
Consumer confidence is at a low level, no one's feeling particularly upbeat about the future. People are having to make much more difficult decisions about their household situation. Half of all mortgages in New Zealand still have to refix this year. The CoreLogic Pain and Gain Report looked at sales in Q1 where our property is resold. And so we look and see what is the price difference from when they sold in Q1 to whatever that property was bought for. Now, the high level figures are the 61 resales sold at a lift from Q 2022 at 4%. So yeah, it's definitely taking some sizable caution there.
