Is This the Birth of the Military Industrial Complex?
There's a clear link between the military and industry. Many people who are in industry don't want to antagonize congress. The lobbying efforts aren't as sophisticated as they will be after the 19 sixties, nieteen seventye but there are connections between industry and congress. Former military officials end up getting jobs ill working for defense contractors. And there is a clear employment connection between the military industry. But the sense of the military industrial complex being this conspiratorial entity is somehow pulling those strings of war. I o that altogether, i think that's obviously not fruitful in historical terms.
