The Importance of Japanese Art in Tattooing
Japanese art has become almost like a genre in American tattooing so that there are like white artists who specialize in quote unquote Japanese style tattoos. I feel like the industry often doesn't like seem to fully honor or respect that history of Japanese culture in tattooing. The traditional Japanese tattoos were made for the Yakuza they're gang signs and relations and so if you go to Japan and have a body suit like that they are going to think you are in a gang, he says.
