Rock and Roll - The First Song I've Ever Played
Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis headlined a tour with Alan Fried in 1958, just after Johnny B. Good came out. It was the last gasp of rock and roll cultural relevance for almost everyone involved. The show in Boston on this tour led to Fried's downfall. He didn't have the connections or understanding of the new manufactured pop that he did with R&B records from labels like Chess.
